Bartolomeo Bezzi was one of the main painter of 19th century in the Dolomites area.
He was from Fucine in Sole Valley. He got married to Isabella de Dal Lago who was from Cles.
The painter was very active and used to travel in different places from Rome to Venice, from Milan to Vienna offering his beautiful view paintings.
He loves landscapes mostly and very rarely he did some portaits.
He spent his last days in the beautiful Palazzo Dal Lago, owned by his wife’s family, were he set up a cozy, luminous and delightful studio.
The studio was located on the third floor of the building just below the roof top and had two big windows and a precious view of the Brenta’s Group mountains.
He loved spending time there and trying to alleviate his depression.
He died in 1923. He has been buried at the cimitero of Cles and the artist Wenter Marini made a allegoric design on his tomb.
